1. Which plugs for which wall?

The included plugs (usually Fischer UX or DuoPower) are ideal for concrete and solid brick walls.

⚠️ Caution with drywall/plasterboard:
Standard plugs won't hold here! You need special cavity plugs (e.g., Fischer DuoTec or toggle bolts). Be sure to check your wall by knocking before drilling.

2. How do I hide the cables?

A flat TV only looks good if no black cables are hanging down. You have two options:

  • In-wall (Pro): Cut a slot in the wall and lay a cable duct under the plaster.
  • On-wall (Easy): Use self-adhesive, paintable cable ducts.

3. The right height

Don't hang the TV too high! (The most common mistake).

Rule of thumb: When you sit relaxed on the sofa, your eyes should be at the level of the lower third of the screen. For large TVs (65 inches and up), the bottom edge often hangs only 60-80cm above the floor.

How do I find out if the mount fits (VESA)?+
Measure the hole spacing on the back. On the back of your TV, there are 4 threaded holes. Measure the distance horizontally and vertically in millimeters (e.g., 400x400mm). That is your VESA measurement. Our mounts cover almost all standards. If your measurement differs, our adapters can help.
At what height should I hang the TV?+
The center of the screen should be at eye level. The rule of thumb is: The center of the picture (or the lower third of the screen) should be at eye level when you are sitting on the sofa. Often the TV hangs too high. It is best to test it beforehand with masking tape on the wall before drilling.
Do I need special tools for flat mounting?+
A long screwdriver is often necessary. As standard, you need a drill, spirit level (often integrated or included with Vogel's), and screwdriver. Important: With ultra-flat mounts, there is little space behind the TV. A long screwdriver or a socket wrench extension is often helpful to reach the locking screws at the bottom.
What does "Service Position" mean?+
It is a fold-out maintenance function. With very flat mounts, it is difficult to access the cable connections. The "Service Position" (e.g., with the Vogel's TVM 3405) allows you to tilt the lower part of the TV away from the wall and fix it using a stand to comfortably change cables without taking the TV down.
Can I attach the mount to a drywall?+
Only with special cavity plugs. Standard plugs are made for concrete or brick. For drywall or plasterboard walls, you need special cavity plugs (e.g., Fischer DuoTec). Even better: Try to anchor the mount directly into the wooden stud behind the drywall to ensure maximum stability.
How do I hide the cables with only 2 cm wall distance?+
Use flat cable ducts or angled adapters. With ultra-flat mounts, there is often no space for cable bundles behind the TV. The most elegant solution is a cable duct under plaster or a flat, paintable cable duct on the wall. Additionally, 90° angle adapters for HDMI and power plugs help so they don't press against the wall.
Tiltable vs. Fixed – what is better for me?+
Fixed is flatter, tiltable is more flexible. A fixed mount offers the flattest look ("like a picture"). A tiltable mount makes sense if the TV hangs higher (e.g., in the bedroom) to improve the viewing angle and avoid reflections. But keep in mind that tiltable mounts usually have a slightly larger wall distance due to their design.
Are these mounts also suitable for Curved TVs?+
Yes, with the included spacers. However, Curved TVs often require spacers between the back of the TV and the mount to compensate for the curvature. These are included with most universal mounts but slightly increase the effective wall distance.
Can I perform the installation alone?+
No, we strongly recommend a second person. Attaching the wall plate can often be done alone. But for hanging the TV, you should definitely get a second person – especially with models 55 inches and up. The risk of damaging the expensive screen or missing the mount is too high alone. Will the mount also fit my next TV?+
Yes, thanks to standardized VESA dimensions. Usually yes. High-quality wall mounts are very durable and cover large VESA ranges (e.g., 200x200 to 600x400). As long as your next TV is not significantly heavier or has a completely exotic VESA dimension, you can use the mount for many years and TV generations.
