ARES WING Monitor Arm with Pole 17–49 Inches
The ARES WING Monitor Arm with Pole is a black heavy-duty gas spring mount for large monitors from 17 to 49 inches. It is designed for flat monitors, curved monitors, and ultrawide monitors weighing up to 20 kg.
The high pole is the key difference of this version. It features a 46 cm high pole, a maximum height of 668 mm from the desktop to the center of the VESA mount, and a 460 mm height adjustment range. This makes the monitor arm particularly suitable for setups where a large monitor needs to be positioned higher.
The ARES WING GDT1004PBK is the right choice if you are looking for a black heavy-duty monitor arm with a high pole. Key features include a load capacity of up to 20 kg, adjustable gas spring, 46 cm high pole, maximum height of 668 mm, 566 mm reach, and mounting via C-clamp or grommet mount.
For Large Curved and Ultrawide Monitors
The monitor arm is suitable for monitors from 17 to 49 inches. This means it can be used for standard single monitors, large gaming monitors, curved displays, and wide ultrawide monitors.
The maximum load capacity is 20 kg. This load capacity applies to flat monitors as well as curved and ultrawide monitors, provided that the VESA mount, housing design, center of gravity, and monitor depth are compatible with the mount.
Especially with 49-inch monitors, the screen size alone is not enough. Before purchasing, always check the monitor weight without the stand, VESA mount, rear design of the monitor, and center of gravity.

High Pole for More Vertical Positioning
The 46 cm high pole allows the monitor to be positioned higher than with many conventional monitor arms without a pole. The maximum height from the desktop to the VESA center is 668 mm.
The height adjustment range is 460 mm. This allows the monitor to be adjusted significantly along the pole. This is useful when a large screen needs to be positioned higher or when more flexibility is required for vertical alignment.
The pole-mount design is particularly suitable for setups where height is more important than an especially compact arm design. Before installation, check that there is sufficient space behind and above the monitor.
Adjustable Gas Spring up to 20 kg
The integrated gas spring is adjustable and is adapted to the weight of the monitor. This allows the screen to be moved in a controlled manner and held in the desired position.
The load capacity is up to 20 kg. The monitor weight should be checked without the stand. With large curved and ultrawide monitors, monitor depth, center of gravity, and VESA position are also important.
If the spring is adjusted too strongly, the monitor may move upward. If it is too weak, the monitor may sink. Correctly adjusting the spring tension is therefore an important installation step.
With large 49-inch curved and ultrawide monitors, you should not only check the load capacity. The VESA mount, housing depth, center of gravity, desk stability, and available space for arm movement are also critical.
566 mm Reach for Flexible Screen Positioning
The maximum reach is 566 mm. This allows the monitor to be pulled closer, pushed farther back, or positioned to the side.
With very large monitors, the reach should be checked against the desk and the available space behind it before installation. Especially wide displays require more free space when swiveling and rotating.
Tilt, Swivel, and Rotate
The monitor can be tilted +50° upward and -20° downward. It can also swivel +90° / -90°.
The VESA mount can rotate 360°. This allows a suitable monitor to be used in landscape or portrait orientation. With 49-inch monitors, the pivot function is usually of limited practical use because the monitor can be very wide and heavy.
C-Clamp or Grommet Mount
The ARES WING GDT1004PBK can be attached to the edge of the desk using a C-clamp. The C-clamp is suitable for desktops from 1.3 to 5 cm thick.
Alternatively, a grommet mount is included. This is also suitable for desktops from 1.3 to 5 cm thick. The suitable hole diameter is approx. 10 to 60 mm.
Before purchasing, check the desk thickness, desk edge, existing hole, and available space underneath the desk. A stable desktop is particularly important for heavy monitors.
VESA 75x75 and 100x100 with Quick Release
The monitor arm is suitable for monitors with VESA 75x75 mm or VESA 100x100 mm. The VESA plate is removable, making monitor installation easier.
The Quick Release plate can first be attached to the monitor. The monitor is then hooked onto the arm together with the plate. This is particularly convenient for large and heavy monitors.
- • VESA 75x75: Hole spacing of 75 mm horizontally and 75 mm vertically.
- • VESA 100x100: Hole spacing of 100 mm horizontally and 100 mm vertically.
- • Important: Monitor size, monitor weight, VESA dimensions, housing design, and center of gravity must be compatible with the mount.
Cable Management on the Monitor Arm
The monitor arm features a long cable clip at the top and fully integrated cable management at the bottom. This allows power and signal cables to be routed neatly along the arm.
It is important that the cables have enough slack. This prevents the cables from restricting arm movement or being pulled tight when the arm is adjusted.
Black Finish in Aluminum and Alloy Steel
The black finish matches dark monitors, gaming setups, black desk frames, and professional workstations.
The construction consists of aluminum and alloy steel. This makes the monitor arm suitable for large single monitors and heavy curved or ultrawide setups.
Check the monitor size, monitor weight without the stand, VESA dimensions, monitor depth, center of gravity, desk thickness, mounting method, and available space behind the desk. This check is particularly important for curved and ultrawide monitors.
Package Contents
The package includes the monitor arm, tools, C-clamp, grommet mount, screws, and instructions.
Both intended mounting methods are included: attachment to the desk edge using the C-clamp and installation through a suitable desk hole.
When the Monitor Does Not Fit Directly
Not every monitor can be mounted directly to a VESA mount. Some monitors do not have a VESA mount, have a recessed back, or use a hole pattern that does not directly match the mount.
- • No VESA mount on the monitor: Suitable solutions can be found under VESA Adapters.
- • VESA plate does not sit flush: VESA Spacers are suitable for this.
- • Hole pattern does not match: For different VESA dimensions, VESA Adapter Plates can help.
